Google brought on David as their second employee in the New York headquarters in 2000 at a time when the company was doing just under $3M in revenue. David then spearheaded the company’s monetization strategy by co-founding Google’s Vertical Markets Group and wiring the regional sales team structure. For eight years, he oversaw cross-functional and cross-business responsibilities, all of which helped him to lead both Google’s culture committee and its recruiting initiative and subsequently hire many of the people who lead Google’s sales and business teams today.
At CB Insights, Michael dove into startups developing nascent technologies and coined this area “frontier technology”. After witnessing CBI grow from 12 to over 80 employees, he joined the investment team at Rothenberg Ventures where he led the team's investment theses in Robotics, Drones, Space, and Autonomous Vehicles. Prior to that, Michael invested in public and private markets at hedge fund Crane Partners, while also managing a small seed stage portfolio out of the fund. Michael grew up in Newton, MA and graduated from NYU with a degree in economics.
